Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric Bookings Open in India Ahead of November Launch

Mercedes-Benz has opened GLC Electric bookings in India ahead of its November 4 launch, with local assembly, AWD and a claimed range of more than 700 km.

Updated Oct 6, 2026

Bookings for the Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric are now open in India ahead of its launch on 4 November 2026. The electric SUV will be locally assembled in Pune, which could help Mercedes keep pricing more competitive than a fully imported model.

GLC Electric power and battery

The India-spec model is expected in the GLC 400 4Matic version. It uses a 94 kWh battery and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system with roughly 490 hp and 800 Nm.

The claimed driving range is more than 700 km under the international test cycle. Real-world range will depend on speed, weather, traffic, wheel size and air-conditioning use, but the large battery should make the GLC Electric suitable for longer highway trips as well as city driving.

Fast performance

The dual-motor setup can take the SUV from 0-100 km/h in about 4.3 seconds. That gives it sports-car-like acceleration while keeping the space and comfort expected from a premium SUV.

Why local assembly matters

Local assembly can reduce some import-related costs and also makes the model more important for Mercedes-Benz’s India EV strategy. The company is increasing the number of electric models offered alongside petrol and plug-in hybrid cars.

Expected price

The GLC Electric is expected to sit around the ₹80 lakh to ₹90 lakh ex-showroom range, although the final price will be announced at launch.

For buyers considering a premium EV, the main things to compare will be real-world range, charging speed, home-charging setup, warranty and service support. The GLC Electric looks strong on paper, but final value will depend heavily on the launch price.
