About Renault

Passion for Life

Renault, a historic French brand founded in 1898, has been a significant player in the Indian automotive story. Known for its "Diamond" logo and the philosophy of "Passion for Life," Renault has consistently disrupted segments by offering cars that are stylish, spacious, and affordable. The brand operates in partnership with Nissan at their joint manufacturing facility in Oragadam, Chennai, which serves as a global export hub.

The Legend Returns (2026)

The year 2026 marks a pivotal moment for Renault in India with the comeback of its most celebrated nameplate:
  • The All-New Duster: Unveiled on Republic Day 2026, the 3rd-generation Duster is set to officially launch in March. Built on the advanced CMF-B platform, it retains its legendary ruggedness while adding modern tech, a new 1.3L Turbo engine, and for the first time, a strong-hybrid powertrain option (expected later in the year).
  • Bigster (Upcoming): Following the Duster, Renault is preparing to launch a larger, 7-seater SUV (often referred to as the Bigster concept) to compete in the premium SUV segment.

Current Product Pillars

Beyond the Duster, Renault’s portfolio continues to drive volume with three key models tailored for Indian roads:
  • Kiger: A stunning sub-compact SUV that offers a perfect balance of performance and efficiency. It is known for its sporty design, high ground clearance, and 4-Star GNCAP safety rating (adult protection).
  • Triber: An engineering marvel that created the sub-4 meter 7-seater segment. It offers unmatched modularity with seats that can be removed or folded to create over 100 seating configurations.
  • Kwid: The hatchback that revolutionized the entry-level market with its SUV-inspired design and touchscreen features, remaining a favorite for first-time buyers.

Renaulution India

Under its "Renaulution" strategy, Renault is shifting its focus toward value and technology. The brand is aggressively expanding its rural reach through "Workshop on Wheels" and is actively developing an affordable mass-market EV (based on the Kwid/Spring) to support India's green mobility transition.
