About Land Rover
The House of Brands
Land Rover has evolved from a single nameplate into a "House of Brands," distinguishing its vehicles into three unique pillars:
Range Rover (Refinement),
Defender (Durability), and
Discovery (Versatility). Under the stewardship of
Tata Motors, the brand has transformed into a symbol of "Modern Luxury," blending British design heritage with Indian industrial capability.
Manufacturing Milestone (2026)
Land Rover is one of the most localized luxury brands in India. In February 2026, the brand achieved a historic milestone by inaugurating a new manufacturing facility in
Panapakkam, Tamil Nadu. This new plant, which recently rolled out its first localized Range Rover Evoque, operates alongside the existing facility in
Pune, Maharashtra, significantly boosting the production of "Make in India" luxury SUVs.
The 2026 Product Portfolio
The brand’s lineup caters to every kind of adventurer and executive:
- Range Rover & Sport: The pinnacle of luxury SUVs. These models are now locally assembled in India, significantly reducing their price while maintaining the "Magic Carpet Ride" comfort and status they are famous for.
- Defender (90, 110, 130): The unstoppable off-roader. The 2026 model year features updated interiors with a larger 13.1-inch screen and the introduction of the extreme Defender OCTA flagship.
- Range Rover Evoque: The stylish urban SUV, now manufactured at the new Tamil Nadu plant, serving as the entry point into the Range Rover family.
- Discovery: The ultimate family SUV, offering seven full-sized seats and unmatched versatility for long-distance touring.
Reimagine: The Electric Future
As part of the JLR "Reimagine" strategy, Land Rover is preparing for the biggest shift in its history. The brand is set to launch the all-electric
Range Rover Electric in India later in 2026, promising the same go-anywhere capability with zero tailpipe emissions, wading through up to 850mm of water in near silence.
