About Jaguar

A Copy of Nothing

Founded in 1922 as the Swallow Sidecar Company, Jaguar became a legend under Sir William Lyons, who famously stated that a Jaguar should be "a copy of nothing." This ethos of originality defined classics like the E-Type, often called the most beautiful car in the world. Today, under the ownership of Tata Motors (as part of JLR), Jaguar remains a symbol of British creativity and Indian industrial stewardship.

The Great Reinvention (2026)

Jaguar is currently executing one of the boldest strategies in automotive history: the "Reimagine" strategy. In preparation for a new era, the brand has streamlined its portfolio, phasing out traditional internal combustion engines (including the XE, XF, and F-Type) to clear the path for a completely new lineup. The goal is to elevate Jaguar into the ultra-luxury tier, competing directly with Bentley and Porsche rather than mainstream premium brands.

Jaguar in India

India is a spiritual home for Jaguar due to its ownership by the Tata Group. The brand operates through the JLR India network, with headquarters in Mumbai. While the company previously assembled models like the F-PACE and XF at its facility in Pune, the focus has now shifted toward preparing the Indian market for the arrival of the next-generation electric GTs.

The Future Lineup

As of 2026, Jaguar is launching its new identity:
  • The 4-Door GT: The first of the "New Jaguar" species, this ultra-luxury electric GT is designed to offer a range of up to 700 km and unmatched rapid charging, serving as the flagship for the brand's rebirth.
  • F-PACE (Legacy): The brand's best-selling SUV, which served as the bridge between the combustion era and the electric future, remains a favorite among Indian loyalists for its balance of practicality and performance.

Modern Luxury & Sustainability

Jaguar's new direction is not just about electrification but about "Modern Luxury." This involves a commitment to sustainable materials, minimalist design, and an ownership experience that is strictly bespoke. The new "Leaper" and "Device Mark" logos signify this shift, representing a brand that is fearless, artistic, and forward-looking.
