About Volvo
Safety First, Always
Since its founding in 1927, Volvo has been guided by a singular mission: to ensure that "no one should be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo car." This commitment has made the brand the global benchmark for automotive safety, responsible for inventions like the three-point seatbelt which saved over a million lives. Today, Volvo combines this heritage with a new focus on sustainability and personal freedom.
Made in India (Hoskote)
Volvo is deeply rooted in the Indian market through its local manufacturing operations. The brand assembles its entire lineup at its facility in
Hoskote, near Bengaluru. This local assembly allows Volvo to price its luxury vehicles aggressively, making models like the XC60 and the new electric EX series highly competitive against their German rivals.
The 2026 Product Lineup
Volvo India’s portfolio is currently in a transition phase, balancing its traditional strengths with its electric future:
- EX30: The brand’s latest game-changer. This compact electric SUV is the smallest and fastest Volvo ever, designed to bring a younger demographic into the luxury fold with a starting price of approx. ₹41 Lakh.
- EX40 & EC40: Formerly known as the XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge, these renamed twin models continue to be India's most popular luxury EVs, offering a choice between a classic SUV stance and a sporty coupe-crossover silhouette.
- XC90 & XC60: The backbone of the brand. These mild-hybrid SUVs remain the preferred choice for families and executives who need long-distance capability with the highest standards of safety and comfort.
A Fully Electric Future
Volvo Car India has one of the most aggressive electrification strategies in the industry. The brand aims to become a fully electric car company by 2030. In pursuit of this, they have already phased out diesel engines entirely and are preparing to launch their new flagship, the
EX90, a 7-seater electric SUV that functions as an advanced computer on wheels.
